This international Harbour Master course was developed in partnership with the International Harbour Masters' Association (IHMA) and the UK Harbour Masters' Association (UKHMA), and is recognised by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) as a professional foundation and development distance learning course for harbour masters and their personnel. The course addresses the UK National Occupational Standards for Harbour Masters as well as the Port Marine Safety Code. The course attracts representatives from ports and maritime administrations around the world.
The course has also been recognised by the University of Middlesex (London) and successful Diploma students qualify for advanced standing entry to a MBA (Harbour Masters)* which can also be completed by part-time distance learning study.

The Diploma for Harbour Masters has been academically assessed to provide 60 credits of prior learning accreditation towards a unique MBA delivered in partnership between IBC Academy and Middlesex University.
