Monsalve & Panza Ltd
Julio Monsalve is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters Degree in Energy Futures and has worked for leading oil & gas operators. His main areas of knowledge are Maintenance and Reliability assessment for rotary equipment and he currently works in pipeline design and operations.
As part of his role he has led important projects concerning multidiscipline groups involved in RCA, FMCA and Oil & Gas Field Management. Julio is a Director of Monsalve & Panza Ltd, an engineering consultancy dedicated to pipeline design projects, pipeline integrity programs and support to pipeline operators.
He has been involved in the design of multiple phase flow lines where he has earned important knowledge regarding pipeline design and pipeline construction project management, whilst he has been a key player generating excellent synergy between operations, maintenance and design management to achieve success on critical operational troubles.
Julio has a passion to share his knowledge and provide major support for students in pipeline design.
Dr Afshin Motarjemi PhD, MSc, BSc
Genesis Oil & Gas
Dr Motarjemi has a PhD from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in Fracture Mechanics, a Master of Science from Sharif University of Technology in Materials Engineering and a Bachelor of Science from Sharif University of Technology in Metallurgy.
His professional experience includes Det Norske Veritas (DNV) where he was the Principal Integrity Engineer and Pipeline Team Leader, Pipeline Structures and Subsea Section in London. Previously he was the Senior Integrity Engineer for the Structural Integrity Technology Group, Defect Assessment Section of the Welding Institute (TWI) Ltd in Cambridge, in the Welding and Assessment Group of the GKSS Research Centre in Geesthacht, Germany, and prior to this the Chief Welding Inspector, Iran ITOK Inspection Co. in Tehran, Iran. Dr Motarjemi had published/presented more than 50 technical papers in journals and at conferences. Dr Motarjemi worked as a Senior Materials and Integrity Consultant for Xodus Group in London and now works for Genesis Oil & Gas.
Dr. P. Ragupathy
Project Engineering Manager
Dr Ragupathy is Project Engineering Manager for Subsea 7 and has over 34 years experience working on oil, gas and civil engineering projects, having a BSc Eng.(Hons), MSc in Structures, a PhD in Civil Engineering and being a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers and a CEng.
His experience includes project management and project engineering, front-end studies to the detailed design of pipeline systems, design and engineering of large diameter export pipelines, as well as deepwater pipelines and HP / HT pipelines. He has also carried out the design and engineering of pipelines under ice keel scour loading, reeling/unreeling and straightening analysis of pipelines, and detailed finite element based analysis of thermal expansion with temperature gradient and cyclic operational loading to estimate the stress ranges for fatigue damage assessment.
He has additional knowledge in upheaval buckling, lateral buckling, pipeline walking, fishing gear pullover, seismic spectrum analysis and detailed finite element analysis of subsea pipeline subjected to cyclonic loading considering passive resistance due to pipeline settlement.
Edgar Rodrigues MSc
Edgar graduated as a Metallurgist from IUT (Technology University) in Caracas in 1997, before undertaking an MSc in Environmental Management at the University of Abertay in 2002. He is now undertaking an MSc Corrosion Control Engineering Course at Manchester University (Previously UMIST) and is now working towards Charter Engineering.
He has worked at WGIM as Senior Corrosion Engineer providing corrosion and integrity consultancy to Oil & Gas Operations in the North Sea since 2006. At present he is Integrity Engineer responsible for two topside offshore platforms within TAQA Bratani ensuring compliance with corporate, regulator, operational and commercial requirements. He performs fitness for service calculations and MAOP testing to advise fitness for service according to DNV 101 standards and API 579/ASME FFS-1:2007. During this period, he also provides guidance for making repairs, replacement, re-rating and re-design decisions.
Dr. T. Sriskandarajah BSc Eng.(Hons), PhD, F.I.Mar.E., Eur.Ing, C.Eng
Global Pipeline Engineering Manager and Head of Pipelines Design Centre of Excellence
Dr Sriskandarajah has over 32 years experience in oil and gas projects, engineering, construction management and material science research and civil engineering projects; twenty six years on project management, engineering design and construction engineering of onshore and offshore projects, deep water pipelines, and subsea facilities; and four years on material science research including sulphide stress corrosion cracking, corrosion-fatigue and fracture mechanics. He has a BSc Eng.(Hons) and a PhD, and is F.I.Mar.E., Eur.Ing and C.Eng.
Project management and engineering experience covers work for over 40 clients encompassing 38 separate countries. Dr Sriskandarajah has acted as technical advisor to many Joint Industry Programs (JIPs) and R&D projects in developing technology for the oil and gas industry and pipeline engineering industry, including limit state design and non-trenching of pipelines. He has been responsible for many HP / HT projects, including Pipe-in-Pipe systems. He has authored and co-authored over 40 technical papers and presented at many national and international conferences since 1982.
At present he is the Global Pipeline Engineering Manager and Head of Pipelines Design Centre of Excellence responsible for pipeline systems engineering and pipeline technology development within Subsea 7.
